What I love about Miss Miller's books is that she doesn't narrate the story, but allows the reader to experience it. I am immersed in the characters, their plight, and their emotions. Victory Cove is romantic suspense at its best. The suspense starts at the very beginning and continues to build with each page. Told from both Jake and Megan's point of view, it allows the reader to fully understand how their past has shaped their present and the obstacles they must overcome in order to have a future. I loved both of these strong yet vulnerable characters and how their relationship progressed amidst the mounting suspense. Victory Cove is very well-written with excellent character development, realistic dialogue, and great descriptions. This is the third book I have read by this author and I can highly recommend all of them.Product details

This is my second book by Ms. Miller and readers of her novel Widow's Tale will recognize the landscape and certainly some characters even though Victory Cove is not a sequel by any means.
Ms. Miller has crafted a standalone novel with familiar elements and new ones to boot. Both Jake and Megan are wonderful characters that a reader is drawn to instantly and even Estelle, Jake's grandmother, will strike a cord as a character that can be partially disliked but easily understood. By the end, it all works out. At least from this reader's POV.
Victory Cove is a thrilling, exciting romantic story that draws you in instantly and will never bore you. In fact, it will leave you wanting more from all of these stunningly real characters.
This was my introduction to this author and from the description I knew I'd love it and I wasn't wrong. I enjoy very simple, easy romantic reads with characters that I can relate to in one way or another. Victory Cove gave me that in Meg and Jake. A great tale and I hope to read more by this author.
Ms. Maureen Miller, you did it again! Another excellent read, in fact I found this book to be so exciting I couldn't put it down. I felt like the fly on the wall. The descriptions were so "right on" that I could have sworn I was right there with them every step of the way. Can't wait for Rogue Wave to be released so I can once again be carried away.
Victory Cove has everything a romantic suspense novel should. Dark, stormy nights on the beautiful coast of Maine. A secluded manor, where the threat of danger lurks behind every creaking door. A frightened heroine, alone and on the run. A lovable, lonely hero searching for answers about his past. Thrown together in a fight for their lives, Victory Cove will leave you wanting more.
Fluff piece that passed time. Formula plot, sweet with no thinking involved.
Ms. Miller's book, Victory Cove, was everything I had hoped for and more. After reading her first in this series,A Widow's Tale, I couldn't wait for the second. I thoroughly enjoyed the read. The mystery that began the book has you hooked from page one and the introduction of Megan has you on the edge of your seat. Maureen Miller's description of the people, the town, and that house, brought visual depth to the emotions that oozed from her main characters. This is an excellent book that I highly recommend even if you haven't read A Widow's Tale.Victory Cove (Volume 1)
Victory Cove is well-written and suspense-filled. I enjoyed the story from cover to cover even though I wanted to hear more about Serena and Brett and Harriett Morgan (characters from Maureen's other book Widow's Tale). I knew they were right down the road in town, but I kept wanting them to show up more. Of course, I also know that Victory Cove is a stand-alone novel and not a sequel to Widow's Tale, I wouldn't mind seeing a sequel now that includes the characters from Victory Cove and the characters from Widow's Tale. I think it would be an epic adventure. The only thing I would ask is that Miss Miller set the sequel in the summer this time. Her descriptions of the cold, blustery coast of Maine in the winter are so well done, I nearly froze whilst reading, but even that was good because I drank more cocoa and enjoyed the very real cold nights all the better because of Victory Cove. If you are looking for a romantic thriller with teeth, Victory Cove is your story. Two thumbs up for Miss Miller's latest effort.
